date: July, 2024THE OPPORTUNITYMatch seeks an educator with a track
record of success to provide leadership in the elementary school as
the Lower Elementary Principal starting in the 2024-25 school year.
Match Community Day is a PreK-5th grade school campus with
approximately 600 students. The Lower Elementary Principal will
manage the growth and development of our PreK-2nd grade program in
partnership with the Upper Elementary Principal, who will lead
3rd-5th grade.This is an incredible opportunity for someone who has
achieved success as a school leader in an urban school, or an
experienced educator with leadership experience ready to take the
next step. This position is based at Match Community Day, located
at 100 Poydras St. in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston. The
Lower Elementary Principal reports to Match's Chief Schools
Officer. Compensation for this position starts at $140,107 and can
be higher based on prior leadership experience. Match offers a
comprehensive benefits package that includes significant coverage
of health insurance costs and student loan repayment assistance.
Hours for the position are 7:00am-2:45pm on Mondays and Fridays,
7:00am-3:45pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 7:00-4:30pm on
Wednesdays. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe main priority for the Lower
Elementary Principal is to build and maintain a strong school
program for PreK-2nd grade, where students are learning, growing,
and mastering grade level content. The Principal needs to be a
supportive team player and serve as an advocate for the school.
This position requires an appetite for collaborative
decision-making, diligent communication, and a passionate
student-centered perspective to leadership.The growth, performance,
and retention of teachers and other school staff. This work will be
the primary focus of the Principal. The Principal, in his or her
work as an academic leader, is responsible for the management,
development, and performance of the school faculty. This work is
all encompassing and includes hiring decisions, evaluation,
development and retention of faculty members through weekly PD
sessions, summer training, weekly meetings, observations, and more.
The Principal manages the school leadership team, who supervise and
coach teachers, staff, and associate teachers.Strategic Planning
and Change Management. The Principal will work collaboratively with
the elementary school leadership team, the instructional leadership
team, and the network support team on the long-range planning
process for the elementary school, including staff development,
retention, and growth pathways, course offerings, course sequences,
and refinement of curriculum.Leadership and vision on curriculum,
assessments, and pedagogy. The Principal will be responsible for
collaborating closely with lower school instructional leaders, and
the Match network academic team to ensure that the Match School
curriculum, assessments, and instructional methods are effectively
implemented to ensure that Match's instructional vision and
approach are reflected in every Match classroom. Student culture .
The Principal will have overall responsibility for creating a
school culture that is safe, joyful, and focused on learning. This
includes both making sure the day-to-day culture and enforcement of
policies is strong, and dealing with more specific, more severe,
student issues. This does not mean that the Principal will be
responsible for processing all discipline infractions. It does mean
that s/he is responsible for creating a team and leading that team
to address all discipline issues both large and small.Family and
Community. As the head of the school, the Principal ensures family
engagement and authentic partnerships with families is a priority.

communication with students and families. The Principal supports
faculty in communicating personal and academic progress of students
and keep abreast of communication relating to student learning,
