PeaceHealth is seeking a Sys Dir Finance Foundation for a Full Time, Day position.Compensation is $131,456.00 - $197,184.00; hiring rate dependent on qualifications and professional experience.Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.
JOB SUMMARYDirects, controls and is accountable for the financial planning, financial analysis and financial support functions for PeaceHealth's foundations system wide. Develops long and short-term business strategies, operational plans and oversees implementation. Manages the design, structure, development and planning issues within scope of direction. Responsible for quality, service and regulatory compliance for areas of responsibility.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees the preparation of all financial accounting for all of PeaceHealth's philanthropic operations
  • Analyzes and communicates monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the system wide foundations
  • Prepares financial packages for 8 independent Foundations' Finance Committees
  • Communicates and presents any critical financial matter(s) to the system-wide Foundations' Finance and Audit committees
  • Oversees the annual budgeting process for system wide separate foundations
  • Coordinates and manages the annual audit process for system wide independent foundations which includes supervising and managing pre audit planning, negotiating audit fees, supervising preparation of audit related documents, drafting all 7 audited financial statements, and reviews and approves of all IRS Form 990's
  • Performs and manages foundations' cash flow and investments analysis and forecasting for system- wide Foundations
  • Proposes to system wide Finance Committees the balancing of long term and short-term investments in line with Foundations needs and long terms and short-term assets of the Foundations. Initiates and coordinates with treasury, transfer of cash to investment account from the operating account and vice-versa
  • Performs analysis of the inter-affiliate payables and receivables each month. Initiates and coordinates with treasury, transfer of cash to and various affiliates entities to clear such balances. Coordinates with accounting to record such cash transfers and clearing of inter-affiliate balances, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Reviews monthly close process and journal entries daily for system wide foundations
  • Runs various reports from the donor database such as monthly gift reports, pledge outstanding, aging and pledge payments projection reports each month. Reconciles the gifts in donor database with deposits in bank and prepare revenue journal entries for the accountants on a monthly basis
  • Prepares restricted fund balance reports for system-wide foundations
  • Reconciles grants expenses with reimbursement from grantor on a monthly basis 14. Advises on governance issues for system wide Foundation including compliance with state not for profit organization requirements, annual compliance checklistsREPORTING RELATIONSHIPSThe following areas directly report to this position: Foundation AccountantsQUALIFICATIONS (Required unless otherwise designated)EDUCATION:
    • Bachelor of Arts in Accounting or Finance is required
    • Master's Degree is preferredEXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
      • Minimum of 7 years of foundation finance leadership experience required.LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
        • CPA preferredOTHER SKILLS:
          • Ability to deliver financial results for areas of accountability.
          • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
          • Strong organizational and analytical skills - Requires excellent negotiation skills
