Department/Unit: AMHS - Patient Cash Posting Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $40,495.10 - $52,643.64 This position is responsible for processing and safeguarding patient cash flow from point of receipt through final posting and reconciliation in the billing system. Will interact daily with patient billing representatives to ensure all established cash controls are adhered to. Supports others with additional financial needs required within the department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accurately post payments (insurance and patient) from EOBs, EFTs, lockbox files, and manual checks into the billing system. Investigate and resolve unapplied and misapplied payments. Collaborate with billing and customer service teams to ensure resolution of discrepancies and proper account follow- up. Assist with month- end and year- end close activities related to cash posting. Perform other duties as required by supervisor/ manager. Qualifications High School Diploma/G.E.D. with 3 years of appropriate experience in Healthcare finance with a demonstrated knowledge of financial software aaplications. - required Associate's Degree - preferred 1-3 years Healthcare Finance - preferred 1-3 years Banking, Billing/ AR clerks - preferred Familiarity with EOBs/ ERAs, insurance terminology, and healthcare reimbursement. (High proficiency) Experience with electronic health record. Epic is prefered (High proficiency) High level of accuracy and attention to detail (Medium proficiency) Strong organizational and time management skills. (Medium proficiency) Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. (Medium proficiency) Effective written and verbal communication skills. (Medium proficiency) Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
