support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis,
MO.
HOW A RELEASE TRAIN ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Job Responsibilities:
Provide release train engineer support services including, but not
limited to, coordinating the teams from a product standpoint to
help ensure that multiple teams working on the same release product
and features plan and execute as a single release train,
identifying and managing risks, facilitating release planning
meetings, supporting the scrum of scrums, and resolving and
escalating impediments.
Create, maintain and drive solution and Program Increment roadmap
activities across all swim lanes/activities including
accreditation, development, onboarding/adoption, infrastructure,
etc.
Work with management to ensure smooth rollout of SAFe to the
organization, including providing input and direction to help
establish standards and procedures.
Coach team members and other stakeholders in SAFe and Agile
practices, as needed.
Help with team adoption of development industry and departmental
best practices and processes related to SAFe
Facilitates ART level ceremonies such as PI Planning, PO Sync,
Scrum of Scrums, Sprint Demos, Inspect and Adapt, etc.
Be a goal driven program leader have a collaborative team-player
attitude.
Create, maintain and monitor a realistic set of metrics used to
drive personnel, team, system performance
Mastery of complex facilitation and dependency management
techniques (cross team, cross department)
Drive cross team, ART and departmental impediments, planning,
collaboration, and coordination
Continuously find areas of improvement and implement them
regularly. Understand domain architecture and upstream/downstream
dependencies
Stay current on domain architecture targets to support the program
in risk management
Provide regular and open communication across the program and
stakeholders for transparency and awareness of progress and
impediments
Help establish governance structure where decision-making is
weighted toward empowered teams
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Qualifications:
One of the following certifications: SAFe SA, SPC or RTE
5+ years experience on large/complex software programs as a program
manager, release train engineer or similar technical role in an
agile software development environment
3-4 years experience as a Scrum Master of several teams
Kanban experience
Bachelor's degree in Business or Technical field
Integrated Roadmap creation and maintenance
Metric identification, creation and tracking
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with senior management
Outstanding collaboration skills, prior experience working in a
matrix and geographically distributed organization
Highly organized and execution focused, accountable and driven
Jira and Confluence experience
Active TS/SCI clearance required to start and must be able to
obtain a CI Poly
