The Level 3 Technician is a critical and active role to maintain
optimal function and output at the wind site by managing a team of
technicians working daily on turbine operations, required
maintenance, safety, quality control and warranty repair(s). You
will partner and communicate with the Field Supervisor and customer
to execute contract requirements and timelines and ensure alignment
with operational excellence. Duties and responsibilities Perform
assembly, commissioning, testing, repair, and maintenance on wind
turbine generators and related equipment. Ability to return WTG to
service. Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic component
maintenance and repair. Perform component retrofits and upgrades.
Oversee and assist preventive maintenance, daily operations, &
large component replacement. Complete required and accurate
documentation associated with corrective and preventive maintenance
of wind turbines and associated equipment; maintain records of
documentation. Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and/or retrofit low to
medium voltage electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic components and
equipment Recognize occurrences of wind turbine error codes and
report issues. Assist with crane rigging and direction. Perform
wind turbine controller maintenance and repair. Assist with high
voltage system maintenance and repair along with ability to read
and understand electrical schematics. Utilize appropriate safety
gear, protective equipment, and control or dissipation of energy
sources to ensure work is performed in a safe manner. Properly
maintain tools and equipment used to perform assigned
maintenance/installation assignments. Maintain required training
certifications and qualifications to enable personnel to safely
perform work-related tasks in a quality & safe manner. Other
responsibilities as assigned. Coordinating daily tasks according to
priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather,
supply, delivery, and personnel. Providing adequate guidance and
feedback to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best
practices, and safety needs. Emphasizing safe use of tools,
machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear,
helmets, and procedures. Resolving conflicts or miscommunications
quickly and amicably. Regularly reporting project status to
supervisors, site engineers and other officials Supervise and train
technicians. Ability to supervise and lead a team. Understand the
project plans and specifications. Reliable and punctual Maintain
daily records of all significant project facts, events and
conditions. Must accurately track and report daily work hours for
crew, equipment utilization and quantities of work performed.
Qualifications Qualifications include: 3-5 years wind turbine
experience 1 year experience leading a crew Excellent communication
and leadership skills. Willingness to travel domestically: more
than 80% of the time. Must possess a valid, current driver’s
license. Experience using computers, tablets and applications
related to email and timekeeping. Must be able to communicate
fluently in the English language, both verbally and in written
form. High School Diploma GWO Certified 3-5 Years wind turbine
experience required. Working conditions The employee may be
required to wear appropriate PPE equipment. The employee could
occasionally be exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne
particles. The noise level in the workplace is moderate. Physical
requirements Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to climb up to 375 ft.
Does not exceed 300lbs with full climbing equipment. Work Remotely
