Job Description:
Job Description Job Description (Portfolio Company Role) This is
a founding-level product role inside one of Stackpoint's
early-stage portfolio companies. We hire multiple Founding Heads of
Product each year—if you want real ownership, real impact, and to
build alongside an exceptional network of builders, we'd love to
connect. We're always looking for builders who want real ownership
and real impact . This role is not at Stackpoint itself , but
within one of the early-stage companies we launch each year.
Stackpoint is a venture studio: we build and fund 3–4 new companies
annually , and for each company we hire a Founding Head of Product
a few months post-launch. Because of this model, we're continuously
meeting exceptional product leaders who may be a fit for current or
upcoming roles . If this resonates, we'd love to connect—even if
the timing isn't perfect yet. Getting to know you early helps us
put the right opportunities in front of you when they open. The
Role This is a founding-level product role at an early-stage
company with real traction potential, real customers, and real
stakes. It is not a traditional PM role with fixed boundaries .
You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO, engineers, and
design partners to shape what gets built, why it matters, and how
the company wins . We're drawn to product leaders who: Obsess over
customers Think in systems and first principles Move fast without
losing judgment Raise the bar for clarity, focus, and execution
Especially in messy, ambiguous, 0?1 environments. What You'll Drive
1. Product Vision & Strategy Own a cohesive long-term product
vision and translate it into a sharp, focused near-term roadmap.
Synthesize inputs from customers, the CEO, design partners, and
market signals into clear strategic bets . Decide explicitly what
not to build —protecting focus and eliminating noise. Adapt quickly
as new information, constraints, or complexity emerge. 2. Customer
Discovery & Reality Loops Lead high-leverage customer discovery
that surfaces real pain and forces prioritization. Prototype early
and often—interactive prototypes, lightweight agent flows, scrappy
internal demos. Pressure-test value using real customer data and
real workflows , not abstractions. Translate messy customer input
into crisp problem statements and product bets. Maintain tight
feedback loops on every release to learn, adjust, and
re-prioritize. 3. Execution, Prioritization & Engineering
Partnership Work directly with engineers to understand constraints,
unblock issues, challenge assumptions, and refine approaches. Drive
a fast, learning-oriented execution rhythm (clear sprint goals,
demos, iteration). Apply ruthless prioritization: weigh impact vs.
complexity vs. risk, and cut scope aggressively when needed. 4.
Team Energy, Culture & Communication Be a source of clarity and
momentum—the team always knows what matters next and why . Raise
the emotional energy of the team; people leave meetings more
motivated, not drained. Communicate decisions and tradeoffs with
candor and transparency. Model founder-level ownership: when
something breaks, you own the solution. 5. Company Building Beyond
Product Contribute to hiring across product, engineering, design,
and GTM. Help craft investor narratives, pitch materials, and
go-to-market enablement. Jump into high-leverage founder work—from
customer calls to strategy to ops—wherever your spike accelerates
the company. What You Bring Company Builder DNA Experience as a
founder, early product leader, or de facto co-founder. Takes
initiative unprompted; brings ideas, not just execution.
Comfortable operating with incomplete information and high
ownership. AI-Native Operator Heavy personal user of AI tools;
instinctively applies AI to accelerate your own work and the
team's. Experience shipping AI-powered features where trust,
reliability, and UX matter . Strong intuition for model
limitations, fallback paths, and data/latency tradeoffs. 0?1
Product Leadership Proven ability to define vision, sequence work,
and drive ruthless prioritization. Comfortable killing ideas,
changing approaches, and cutting scope when reality demands it. Can
break complex problems into clear, shippable steps for a small
team. Deep Engineering Partnership Goes deep enough technically to
make better product decisions. Understands architecture, data
flows, and tradeoffs well enough to challenge assumptions. Earns
engineers' trust by protecting focus and respecting constraints.
Leadership & Communication Clear, compelling communicator who
aligns teams around strategy and milestones. High emotional
intelligence; builds trust quickly with customers and teammates.
Leaves people more energized after meeting with you. An Ecosystem
of Exceptional Builders Joining a Stackpoint portfolio company also
means joining a tight-knit ecosystem of founders, product leaders,
and operators building alongside you. To date, we've launched 10
companies and now launch 4 new companies each year . Founding Heads
of Product across our portfolio are peers—not silos. We actively
foster collaboration through: Regular cross-portfolio product and
founder sessions Shared learning on AI, GTM, hiring, and scaling
challenges Direct access to other builders solving similar 0?1
problems in parallel This is a rare chance to: Build your company
with full ownership While learning alongside other exceptional
product leaders And benefiting from pattern recognition across
multiple early-stage startups You're not just taking a role—you're
joining a high-trust network of builders who raise each other's
bar. Why Stackpoint Portfolio Companies Founder-level scope with
real ownership and influence Deep studio support: capital, design
partners, engineering leverage, and experienced operators An
ecosystem of 10 launched companies , with 4 new startups every year
Active cross-portfolio collaboration with other founders and Heads
of Product A culture that values judgment, speed, and substance
over process theater Interested? If this role excites you—even if
the timing isn't perfect—we'd love to connect. We're always
building relationships with exceptional product leaders and will
reach out as founding roles open across the Stackpoint
portfolio.
