Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Responsibilities for this Position General Dynamics Mission Systems is looking for a Business Development Manager to lead efforts in the United States. The incumbent will lead captures focused on improved market positioning across United States Army and the Department of Defense to yield long term top-line growth within the Network Computing Systems segment of the Ground Systems line of business focused on the Common Hardware System contract. The incumbent will participate in the development and execution of the Ground Systems strategy including but not limited to: technology roadmaps, identifying and shaping capture/new business opportunities within the Army, detailed review & analysis of customer budgets and acquisition plans, own and maintain responsibility for new business funnel, participate in discussions with DoD personnel to understand and shape acquisition strategies. The incumbent will work with program managers to ensure clear communications with Army customers, will attend program reviews to ensure that program progress supports the operational requirements within the limitations of the contracts, and will help bring forward ideas to customers for their consideration. In some cases the incumbent will take the role of capture management and develop a complete capture strategy and execute captures as part of the business growth strategy. Significant travel (> 40%) required. PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE: Significant prior experience with DOD operational and acquisition processes is required with specific emphasis on Army and other DoD Commercial of the Shelf Systems. Led Capture Team(s) on full and open competitive awards with Army or DoD. Demonstrated results in facilitating sustainable business growth model Candidates should demonstrate sophisticated research and analysis skills, as well as an ability to further evolve the GDMS business. Initiated partnerships and teaming relationships for competitive pursuits. This position requires a bachelors degree or the equivalent with 13 years of relevant experience in a related field. Candidates must also possess excellent written/verbal communications skills, presentation skills, organizational time management skills, team building skills, and display a strong sales presence. Knowledge of the Army acquisition process and sufficient technical background to verify and shape our capture strategies Line of Business and company level. Related business development / capture experience and a demonstrated pattern of success.
