Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management - #805 Springfield College, located in historic Springfield, Massachusetts, announces the search for an Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management (AVPEM). The AVPEM reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management. The College invites nominations and applications for this very exciting opportunity, with a starting date no later than June 1, 2022. The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management (AVPEM) will bring a past record of new student enrollment increases along with the integrity, energy, and best practices knowledge to effectively assist in leading a high-functioning and high-performing enrollment team. The Division of Enrollment Management includes the offices of Undergraduate Admissions (first-year and transfer), Graduate Admissions, Regional and Online Admissions, International Admissions, and Financial Aid. Collectively, the Division has a total staff of 55. The AVPEM will play a significant and strategic role as a unifying leader driving new student recruitment and marketing strategies producing positive results. They will assist in leading an institution-wide, strategic, comprehensive, systematic, and data-driven approach designed to identify, recruit, and retain traditional and non-traditional students who are best-fit for Springfield College. The AVPEM will develop partnerships campus-wide and with the College President and President's Leadership Team to create a campus culture of new student recruitment and engagement that successfully meets institutional new student enrollment goals each academic term and annually overall. The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management will work in close collaborative partnership with the Vice President of Enrollment Management to lead a process that develops annual recruitment plans for each admissions area and their specific target audience. This plan includes compelling initiatives and best practices that will result in new student enrollment growth. The AVPEM hires, trains, supervises, motivates, mentors, problem-solves, and coaches the enrollment team. They strengthen outcomes, analytics, and operations, increasing campus-wide engagement in recruitment efforts. The AVPEM also will work closely with the President and the members of the President's Leadership Team (PLT) as needed in playing a leadership role in fostering a sense of inclusion and engagement in a diverse and vibrant community that includes our students, coaches, faculty, alumni, and community. Position Type Full Time Regular Appointment Months Per Year 12 month Posted Date Feb 15, 2022 Requirements The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management is required to have:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited higher education institution.
  • At least five years of higher education experience specifically in enrollment management with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Director's level position is preferred (but not required) in enrollment management overseeing operations and processes, recruiting staff, and marketing initiatives.
  • Progressive experience supervising professional/exempt-level staff.
  • A track record of enrollment growth where leads/inquiries, applications, acceptances, campus visits, enrollment deposits, and new student enrollees have been increased.
  • A commitment to equity, inclusion, and the enrollment of students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge and proficient use of search name purchase strategy, admissions-related software (Slate preferred), data analytics tools, predictive modeling, financial aid systems, and digital campaigns for recruiting purposes. The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management must demonstrate:
    • A deep understanding of the marketplace opportunities and challenges locally in Massachusetts, regionally in New England, and nationally regarding Springfield College's position in order to be responsive, innovative, and nimble to develop short and long-term enrollment goals while exploring and cultivating new markets.
    • A track record of enrollment growth at a previous institution where leads/inquiries, applications, acceptances, campus visits, enrollment deposits, and new student enrollees all increased.
    • Success in connecting with internal and external constituents and stakeholders of student recruitment including high school administrators, athletics and coaches, faculty, current students, alumni, community organizations, community colleges, and enrollment service providers.
    • The ability to build a culture of enthusiasm and passion in the Division that translates into increased new student enrollments.
    • The ability to assess current operations, processes, projects, initiatives, marketing materials, and staff assignments for continuous improvement of a dynamic, highly effective, high-functioning, and future-focused enrollment management operation.
    • The willingness to improve an enrollment organization through strategic, data-driven, and tech savvy approaches driven by best practices in the field.
    • Understanding of new technologies and innovative ways to connect with prospective students and parents to ensure that coordinated messaging and enrollment marketing is executed in a timely manner.
    • The capacity and motivation to be a change agent, with proven success in effecting large-scale change in previous admissions/enrollment offices.
    • A propensity toward seeking mutually beneficial partnerships, within and outside of campus, that advances the Springfield College new student recruitment initiatives.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to write concisely, express thoughts clearly, present persuasively, and develop ideas in a logical sequence.

      • Partner with the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the President, the President's Leadership Team, stakeholder divisions and departments across campus, and admissions and financial aid staff to implement best practices in recruitment immediately, and to think strategically and plan appropriately for changes in enrollment in the higher education landscape over the next 3 to 5 years.
      • Be fully supported by an innovative and strategic thinker and leader, Dr. Mary-Beth Cooper, the 13 th President of Springfield College, who is serving in her ninth year.
      • Work closely with a highly experienced and successful Vice President for Enrollment Management, along with current admissions leaders at Springfield College, in all phases of enrollment operations and strategic recruitment planning and execution.
      • Work closely with the College's Office of Communications and contracted marketing service providers to enhance institutional brand awareness and create innovate strategies to generate more student prospects.
      • Represent the College, the President, and the Vice President for Enrollment Management to internal and external constituents as requested, including serving on campus committees and external boards to benefit the institution.
      • Participate in strategic discussions and the development of other College initiatives and programs that strengthen the College, its brand, and its financial resources.
      • Be active and involved in the enrollment profession and keep Springfield College visible among higher education peer institutions.
      • Create and execute recruitment plans that utilize best practices to achieve new student recruitment goals in all areas.
      • Promote a divisional approach that prioritizes the student experience, focuses on the impact of a Springfield College education, connects with the College's proud and sustained Humanics mission and traditions, and communicates the impressive student outcomes of our graduates.
      • Leverages the Slate Technolutions system to effectively manage data and communicate prospective students and families.
      • Contribute to the division's success in responding to the complex, rapidly changing enrollment landscape and the circumstances impacting enrollment brought about by the pandemic and college affordability issues.
