The Industrial Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Division Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of an industrial processing facility, logistics, and truck routes and manages initiatives to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and profitability of designated Casella Resource Solutions Recycling Operations. - Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees safety and accident prevention programs to ensure all reasonable actions are taken to prevent accidents and injuries, ensure DOT compliance, and create a safe and productive work environment for all employees.
  • Assesses and identifies inbound commodities to ensure accurate grading and alignment with contracted pricing agreement.
  • Develops strong relationships with departments across the company to establish clear lines of communication between operations, maintenance, administration, and sales.
  • Collaborates directly with the sales department to establish competitive cost and pricing strategies to promote revenue growth.
  • Evaluates operational protocols and approves adjustments to take advantage of commodity upgrading opportunities.
  • Follows through with communication, performs regular customer inbound audits to ensure designated customer is notified of results, and assists customers with corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversees finished product audits are completed to ensure company is meeting acceptable Mill specifications of each commodity.
  • Establishes variable costs, budgetary guidelines and sets expectations to meet objectives and analyze operations and activities.
  • Improves the preventative maintenance program continuously to ensure all maintenance is done to establish standards and are utilized to run a safe and efficient Maintenance program.
  • Manages and provides leadership to team members by effectively communicating, establishing clear goals and objectives, coaching team members on achieving goals, and ensuring access to training and development opportunities that assist employees in attaining the necessary skills to achieve team and corporate results.
  • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
  • Ensures compliance with all company, state, and federal policies, regulations, and laws regarding employment and employee safety. Education, Experience & Qualifications The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, a minimum of 3 years of responsible leadership experience in a management or supervisory position, 3-5 years of experience in an operational environment and 1-3 years of DOT trucking experience. A valid driver's license and an ability to travel quarterly within the company footprint is required. A solid understanding of the recycling industry, knowledge of high-grade fibers, ability to select and develop a team and proven commitment to safety is required. A strong understanding of planning, processing, and manufacturing, outstanding interpersonal, relationship building, and employee coaching and development skills are essential. Demonstrated knowledge of basic economics, budgeting and accounting principles and practices are necessary. Although not required, certification in safety training, certification in techniques for process improvement, and experience or interest in an environmental and/or sustainability field is preferred.
