duties will include development and execution of strategic
initiatives to accomplish the companies' business objectives, full
profit & loss accountability, identification and acquisition of
necessary resources, planning and implementation of forecasts -
budgets - processes and procedures in the areas of Administration &
Finance, Operations, and Sales. -The position shall be part of the
Senior Management Team of the organization and holds with it the
associated responsibilities, obligations and professionalism. The
fulfillment of the assignments herein shall be fulfilled directly
and/or indirectly in collaboration with other management personnel,
staff or other resources. -ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-include the following. -General Management:
- Develop and implement strategic plans and assignments to
advance and achieve the goals of the business unit's mission,
objectives and actions to meet customer satisfaction, revenue, and
profitability expectations.
- Construction of strategic plans are to include annual goals for
a running 3-year period.
- Ensure company operations to ensure necessary quality,
productivity and efficiency of resources.
- Evaluate performance of staff for compliance with established
policies and objectives of the company and their contributions in
attaining objectives. Ensure personal growth and development of
staff through coaching, motivation, training, and other means.
Ensure adequate knowledge regarding forwarding and related
industries to include; trends, competitors, governing authorities
and amongst others. Administration/Finance:
- Assumes full responsibility for profit & loss of the division
as well as preparation and presentation of forecasts, budgets &
operating results. Negotiates contracts with both partners and
clients.
- Manages the all-financial aspects of the division and works in
collaboration with the Finance Team to ensure appropriate pricing,
accurate billing, timely invoicing as well as receipt of
funds.
- Develops activity reports and financial statements to determine
progress and status in attaining objectives and revises plans in
accordance with market conditions.
- Ensures the proper technology platform is in place to meet
business needs and objectives. -Operations:
- Assumes full responsibility all operating activities,
procedures, policies, and standards. Recommends and implements
systems and process improvements by analyzing and reviewing work
flows. Works in collaboration with other departments and managers
to create enhancements for needed functions and features.
- Develops and manages vendor & carrier relationships and
performance.
- Acquisition, management and compliance of the companies'
licenses, certificates and authorities. -Business Development &
Marketing:
- Plans, develops, and implements strategies for meeting company
objectives pertaining to both retention and generation of revenue
sources. This includes opportunity identification & lead capture,
qualification, needs analysis, solutions development, presentation,
and closing. -
- Manages RFP & Proposal responses. Participates in presentation
as well as trains and coaches presentation teams.
- Identifies partnerships, acquisition and merger opportunities
that align with the company's business objectives, and direct
implementation activities when applicable. Foster initiatives and
expand business development channels with global suppliers to
solidify and enhance revenue and market share opportunities.
- Promotes the division through written articles and personal
appearances at external functions, as well as to regional,
national, and international constituencies.
- Provides advice and guidance to marketing efforts to ensure
global acceptance and understanding of company's brand and message.
Works with marketing to broaden company's audience and
-marketplace.OtherMiscellaneous duties as assigned that are
typically accountable to or the responsibility of this position
level within the organization.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential

in in business administration, economics, transportation,
logistics, or related study areas. A minimum of 10-15 years of
hands-on experience in international forwarding. Should offer a
minimum of 5-7 years of supervisory/managerial experience in which
3+ years are in a senior management level with proven successful
results.Must have strong established relationships with industry
service providers. Ability to negotiate rates with service
providers. SUPERVISORY SKILLSResponsible for the overall direction,
coordination, and evaluation of department/division personnel and
activities. Carries out senior management and supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and
applicable laws. Responsibilities include staff acquisition,
training and retention; planning, assigning and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems. -LANGUAGE SKILLS
-Above average ability is required for the following; read,
analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations. To write
reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. To
effectively present information and respond to questions from
groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Foreign language skills are preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Above average ability is required for the
following; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. To
compute rates, ratios, and percent's and to draw and interpret
graphs.
REASONING ABILITY -Above average ability is required for the
following; to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and
draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety
of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal
with several abstract and concrete variables.CERTIFICATES,
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS -Prefer demonstration of third-party
accreditations and certifications in international forwarding.
