Job Description TITLE: Front Desk Manager - Yankee Inn REPORTS TO : General Manager STATUS : Hourly/Salary POSITION SUMMARY :The Front Desk Manager represents the first point of contact with hotel guests and handles all stages of a guest's stay. The Front Desk Manager manages all operations of the front desk. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the running of the front desk by hiring and training all front desk agents and leading by example. Schedule the front office staff and supervise workload during shifts Fulfill manager on duty shifts. Be available after hours to assit staff over the phone if needed. Resolve guest related problems in a timely manner. Respond to guest inquiries, concerns and complaints as needed. Respond to online reviews and feedback. Complies with hotel's professional attitude and appearance standards. Act as liaison between the General Manager and staff. Assist in the development and monitoring of the budget to provide top quality customer service. Maintain records of all data and forecasts arrival and departure of guests on an everyday basis and ensure an effective night team to ensure smooth operations. Maintain records of room inventory for facility and ensure optimal level of customer satisfaction. Greet guests upon arrival, check them in and provide them with any information they need to enjoy their stay. Answer phones and place reservations. Understand all aspects of property management software. Register and process guests in their assigned rooms. Understands and adheres to proper credit, check and cash handling policies and procedures. Respond to guest inquiries, concerns and complaints as needed. Communicate with other hotel staff on the status of the guest rooms. Up sell guest rooms and promote hotel services and special packages. Handle cash payments. Always maintain a clean, neat and organized front desk area. Perform other duties as requested by management. PREREQUISITES: Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Degree in hospitality or a related field preferred. 2 years of previous front desk manager or front desk supervisor experience is preferred Excellent leadership, management, and team building skills. Must speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
