Job Description:

Technical Director/Registered Vascular Technologist Opportunity in Eugene, Oregon Northwest Surgical Specialists, LLP is a diverse surgical practice centered at a tertiary referral hospital in the Southern Willamette Valley. The vascular surgeons in our practice provide comprehensive vascular care to our region and oversee a busy, well-established in-office vascular laboratory. Our practice has experienced consistent growth and we seek a well-qualified vascular technologist to serve as Technical Director and to complement our talented core of experienced registered vascular technologists. Our vascular laboratory is IAC-accredited and performs in excess of 4,000 examinations annually, including carotid, arterial, mesenteric, renal, venous, and endograft surveillance. In conjunction with our technologists, we also perform an array of in-office ultrasound-guided interventions including endovenous ablation and fistuloplasty. Our technologists have access to the most sophisticated imaging equipment and cloud-based reporting software, work collaboratively with our vascular surgeons on a regular basis, and enjoy consistent weekday hours without call expectation. The successful candidate will hold Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification and display proficiency in all major vascular examinations. Further, as Technical Director, the candidate will be responsible for the following areas of oversight: Clinical Operations:

  • Supervise the daily operations and completion of ultrasound tests ordered by practice physicians
  • Ensure accurate and timely computer data input, report generation and billing submissions
  • Participate in selection and training of technologists and laboratory personnel
  • Oversee laboratory schedule and assign technical personnel on a daily basis
  • Maintain laboratory inventory including equipment maintenance and replacement
  • Assure that federal, state and local policies and regulations are followed within the laboratory Supervision and Training:
    • Supervise the training and education of existing and new vascular technologists in procedures, techniques, and use of equipment
    • Co-lead quarterly vascular laboratory conferences Budget Management:
      • Order supplies and equipment within established budget parameters
      • Plan capital equipment purchases in collaboration with supervising physicians Project Management:
        • Lead quality improvement efforts and oversee the IAC accreditation process
        • Assist clinical investigators with design and implementation of research projects
        • Develop and revise (as needed) examination protocols through literature review and consultation with physicians and colleagues Community: The Eugene-Springfield community has a moderate climate, verdant landscape, and enviable variety of outdoor activities. Requirements: Education : High School Diploma, completion of at minimum Associates Degree in Vascular Technology Program (Bachelor's Degree preferred) Certification/Licensing Requirements: National registry certification such as ARDMS in Vascular Technology; State of Oregon Medical Imaging license (OBMI); maintain licensure and education hours as required by accrediting boards; CPR certificate issued by American Heart Association Experience: Minimum experience of 3-5 years in a rigorous vascular setting preferred; experience as a Technical Director is preferred though not required.
