Baystate Health (BH), western Massachusetts's premier healthcare

- Baystate seeks a BH Program Director for our Primary Care Service
line to join our extensive team at Baystate Medical Practices.The
Baystate Health (BH) Program Director for Primary Care in
partnership with Primary Care leadership and a Co-Director is
responsible for: program development, fiscal profitability,
performance improvement, quality, patient experience, employee, and
provider engagement, and coordination of care and operations for
the primary care services service line.Position Highlights:
- Strategic Growth and Alignment - Partners with Leadership to
design, build and operationalize clinical strategic plans at
regional sites throughout BH to achieve service line/ departmental
growth and alignment. Develop business plans that identify type of
service, manpower, clinical, administrative -and capital needs and
completes financial modeling that supports ROI. Studies market to
understand changes in volume, outmigration, competitive landscape
and puts plans in place that support appropriate growth.
- Safety and Quality - Participates in service line/departmental
-performance improvement initiatives. Knowledgeable about quality
metrics and works with BH partners to improve performance at the
programmatic and practice level. Ensures -metrics are identified,
monitored and reported and work plans are implemented that
demonstrate improvement.
- Fiscal Accountability --In partnership with leadership team,
understands and takes responsibility -for business financials.
Understands Service line profitability and implements changes in
operations to improve financial performance. Utilizes metrics to
make decisions and ensures team is knowledgeable and responds to
negative variances. Leads/Participates in projects/programs that
positions BH to be strategically and operationally prepared to
flourish in an -Accountable Care Organization (ACO) environment.
- Access to Care and Productivity - In partnership with
leadership team, develop ongoing management of access to care for
all services and practices within their scope across all BH sites.
Work with leaders to optimize schedule utilization, panel size and
work efficiency to meet benchmark targets. Partners with referral
groups to understand and reduce outmigration while ensuring
providers/customers are satisfied. Partners with designated Access
Team to ensure optimal pathway from entry through service delivery.

- Patient Experience and Employee Engagement - Support a culture
with the shared goal of prioritized patient experience. Decrease
turnover and provide better outcomes for patients through
data-backed programs. Engage employees and align your organization
around a shared culture of value-based careQualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required; Registered Nurse, MBA or MPH or
other Health Care related Masters preferred.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of leadership experience in a
related field in a complex organization with demonstrated skill in
strategic planning, organizational leadership, and financial
management including revenue cycle, operational change, project
management and practice management is required.
- Demonstrated experience with information management systems,
clinical and business process redesign and use of information
technology required. Lean (QI) experience a plus.As the successful
candidate, you will possess strong interpersonal skills with
demonstrated ability to build relationships with staff,
organizational leaders and medical staff across Baystate Health.In
addition:
- Possess the ability to work well with all levels of the
organization from executive management to operations staff, and is
recognized as both a leader and team player.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in leading a large group to
successful outcomes. Possesses excellent presentation, written and
verbal skills.
- Action oriented with demonstrated ability to breakdown complex
issues into action steps, clearly articulate a plan and execute
effectively.
- A self-starter who takes initiative and has a focus and a sense
of urgency around achieving results, and builds consensus without
creating prolonged processes.
- Maintains a sense of humor, views learning as a lifelong
pursuit, and enjoys being challenged by large/complex systems.You
