Case Worker House Manager Bilingual Candidates Encouraged to Apply EOE M/F/D/VThe G--ndara Center provides residential, mental health, substance abuse, and preventive services for children, adults, and families across the Pioneer Valley and eastern parts of Massachusetts. Our mission is to promote the well-being of Hispanics, African Americans, and other culturally diverse populations, through innovative, culturally competent behavioral health, prevention, and educational services - Changing Lives one family at a time.The Case Worker/House Manager provides oversight to an 8 person congregate housing site for Spanish speaking men in recovery from Substance Use Disorder. Maintain supportive, trauma-informed, and a safe living environment. Provide on-going case management services to support recovery and housing stability.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEstablish positive professional working relationships with individuals assessed and served.Oversee 8-person housing site for Spanish speaking men in recovery.Oversee building maintenance and take necessary and timely actions to ensure a safe and healthy environment.Provide and coordinate supports to maintain housing stability.Provide case management services, including intakes and assessments.Assess and facilitate access to mainstream benefits (SSI, SSDI, SNAP, TANF).Provide linkages to community resources which increase opportunities for economic independence.Teach necessary skills such as transportation, budgeting, etc., that enable independent functioning as needed.Provide training on activities of daily living and life skills, including but not limited to, financial literacy, budgeting, nutrition, and parenting skills to individuals in a group setting.Provide advocacy and teach self-advocacy in accessing needed services.Work with participants in creating and achieving Smart Goals with an Individual Service Plan.Completes all required reports and tracking tools for participants, funding sources and the agency.Provide respectful room inspections.Ability and willingness to drive agency vehicle if needed.Perform other tasks as determined by the Manager of Supportive Housing Services or other Department/Agency administrators.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESBachelor's degree or 3 years' equivalent experience required.Ability to be innovative, creative, analytical, and decisive in problem solving.Ability to work effectively with other community agencies (i.e. School Dept., DCF, Juvenile Court, etc ) required.Ability to structure and organize job responsibilities independently.Ability to deal with diverse populations.Good typing/computer skills.Lived experience preferred.Must have valid driver's license.Commitment to racial equity and inclusive practices.Those who are Bilingual (English + Spanish) or Bicultural are encouraged to apply.LEADERSHIP, TEAM MANAGEMENT, AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLSSeeks and uses management staff for training and supervision.Seeks and attends community trainings to strengthen skills and knowledge.Attends Agency and Department required meetings and trainings.Sensitivity to, and respect for, the diverse world views and different communication styles of individuals of diverse ethnic, linguistic and/or cultures which nurture and shape an organization that celebrates and promotes diversity in its workforce.Highly effective and well-honed verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English; interpersonal skills necessary to persuade and guide both peers and other Agency staff regarding operational matters.Exhibit exemplary customer service, compassion, and care in the execution of all duties and interactionsWorking ConditionsThis position is 40 hrs. per week. Anticipated hours M-F, 9am - 5pm. This job involves both office and outreach work in the community, including home visits to participants' residences.
