Business Project Manager
Location: Remote or Hybrid (prefer candidate who can come onsite occasionally, but not required)
Duration: 12 Months with strong possibility for Extension

Strategic Distributors:

We have had great success in recent years distributing our Annuity and Life-LTC combination products through our financial institution relationships. To further this success, we must evolve our strategy to reach more customers where they are, on their terms, with the products they need. For that reason, we will be forming a dedicated third-party distribution channel to build on the Annuity and Life-LTC combination strategy and expand the product solution offering to include Life and Disability Insurance.

Our strategy is to aggressively grow top line sales by expanding existing and establishing new partnerships with financial institutions (Wire Houses, Banks, Broker-Dealers) and making significant investments in Technology, Sales, Operations, Marketing and Product development. Our strategy will be driven by dedicated, diverse teams across the enterprise where we will prioritize and embrace a dynamic, agile, inclusive and entrepreneurial culture.

The Impact:

• Accountable for monitoring project progress and ensuring timely, cost effective and high-quality execution of project including budget, timelines, and resource allocation to achieve project objectives
• Lead project team to develop/refine integrated plans and execute cross-functional implementation plans
• Ensure that all project team members understand project goals and objectives, current project plan and schedule, critical path activities and activities that may become critical path activities
• Provide a continuously updated and balanced appraisal of the project status, including risk, cost, and value to stakeholders
• Responsible for alignment of functional plans with approved project plans and ensuring high quality execution
• Ensure alignment between project strategy and tactical execution
• Proactively identify issues while resolving conflicts and communicating project-related issues to senior executive management
• Develop and partner with team on an overall communication strategy, as well as the field strategy and broad internal/external communications
• Lead broad scope projects that have medium to long-term focus of varying duration, size, and complexity
• Navigate ambiguity to deliver results
• Manage budget, timeline, resources and scope through prioritization throughout the course of all assigned projects
• Lead project teams during all phases of the development life cycle including requirements gathering and analysis, design, build, pilot, implementation and continuous service
• Be self-supportive in collaborating with peers to effectively deliver a robust solution for the business
• Drive lessons learned and knowledge retention for future use
• Demonstrate proven capability to be organized yet flexible/adaptable Ideal candidate could work hybrid, but remote is okay as well. This is contract until end of year.
  
  Skills: independent self starter with recent financial experience working with finance, banks, financial institution - required. Position is in a fast paced environment, building new processes with new teams and they are in build mode, working with multiple cross functional teams, a high volume of work, things change quickly. Must have excellent communication, attitude, and collaboration. Process improvement mindset is ideal and any experience in a process improvement environment lean, 6 sigma is a plus.

  The Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree Preferred), preferably in Business, Project Management or an analytical field such as Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science
  • 5+ years managing and driving the execution of complex, cross functional, strategic based project experience
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of business model and supporting business processes.
  • Ability to operate in both agile and waterfall project environments
  • Ability to understand and support overall project goals and resolve and remove obstacles to the project's completion
  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • A courageous leader with demonstrated ability to impact and influence senior leaders/peers and vendor relationships
  • Ability to communicate with all level of employees in a professional manner.
  • An agile leader who is able to summarize complex situations, with the flexibility to adapt quickly and influence change within the organization
