The Assistant Vice President of Recruitment and Admissions is
responsible for overseeing enrollment for undergraduate and
graduate students to align with the Strategic Plan. Reports to the
Vice President, Strategic Enrollment Management and oversees
Admissions Processing, Undergraduate Recruitment, the Student
Enrollment Center, Graduate Recruitment, and International
Admissions and supervises the directors of each. Coordinates
enrollment management strategies to attract, enroll, and retain
students. Maintains confidential information, communicates
effectively, and collaborates with other offices within Student
Enrollment Management (SEM) and the University. Demonstrates a
commitment to educational access and support for students. Manages
budget of $1.3 million.Duties:
- Oversees the admissions functions and coordinates necessary
activities to convert prospects into enrolled students to meet
enrollment targets in alignment with the Strategic Plan. Oversees
development and execution of annual recruitment plan. Coordinates
with the colleges to meet their enrollment targets for
programs.
- Responsible for ensuring efficient operations of admissions
processing and ensuring that PeopleSoft Student Administration
product is fully utilized to achieve enrollment targets. Oversees
the Student Information System, development and maintenance needs
and coordinates priorities and testing schedules with the
Functional Analyst as pertaining to PeopleSoft advising and
admissions functions.
- Serves on University committees as appropriate, including the
Enrollment Management Group and the Academic Affairs Marketing
Group.
- Works closely with the Registrar, Financial Aid Director,
Cashier, Student Assistance Center, and Student Success Initiatives
to resolve operational issues to maximize enrollment.
- Manages approximately 8 cost centers totaling over $1.3 million
and makes decisions on distribution of funds and accountability.
Develops budget priorities for Admissions and participates in the
University budget priority process.
- Hires, evaluates and supervises staff, oversees workflow and
performs related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education, Business Administration, or
related field.
- Minimum of eight years of demonstrated progressive leadership
experience in higher education admissions, enrollment management,
or admissions services with at leastfive years of supervisory
experience.Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree.
- Experience managing and supervising multiple departments/units
within Strategic Enrollment Management.
- Bi-lingual, preferably in English/Spanish.Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities:
- Knowledge of State and Federal Regulations on admissions and
recruitment practices in Higher Education.
- Knowledge of current and successful enrollment and recruitment
trends as well as the admissions process from initial contact to
enrollment.
- Skills in Microsoft Office products and skills using logic and
reasoning to solve problems and make critical decisions.
- Skills in budget management aligned with strategic
planning.
- Ability to develop measurable outcomes and assessment
strategies to formulate data-driven decisions.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in
writing.
- Ability to lead a team in formulating and achieving goals.
- Problem-solving skills and a strong sense of initiativeAll
