SunIRef:GP Director Employee Health Services Baystate Health 409 reviews Springfield, MA 01107 Full-time, Part-time Job Company Full / Part Time:Full time Location:Springfield,Massachusetts Regular/Temporary:Regular Summary: Reporting to the Chair Department of Medicine with a dotted line report to the VP Human Resources Operations and Total Rewards, the Director of Employee Health Services will provide clinical and administrative oversight for all occupational health and wellness programs and services provided to employees and non-employees who work, volunteer, and/or study at a Baystate Health location. In addition, this position oversees the Business & Health department at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital and Baystate Franklin Medical Center to assure clinical quality and required clinical oversight for services. Employee Health Services plays an integral role in Baystate's Department of Health, Wellness and WorkLife Solutions to build and support a healthy, productive workforce. In collaboration with medical directors, the Director is the clinical advisor to Baystate Health in all matters related to occupational health and safety and takes a lead role in the communication and coordination of effective policies and programs to enhance the health and safety of employees. The Director provides leadership to the Program Manager for Employee Health Services to support operational efficiency and assure clinical quality for employee health programs and services, and to develop programs to address organizational health issues, to develop and refine worksite health policies, and to engage in strategic planning to meet changing business needs. The Director Employee Health Services collaborates with the Director of Safety and provides consultation to BH committees for safety and infection control to assure compliance with regulatory requirements. In addition, the Director collaborates with Baystate Health's Disability Management team to provide consultation for managing challenging cases and to support a cost effective and efficient process for helping employees return to productive work following a medical leave. Job Responsibilities: 1)Provide clinical oversight for advanced practice providers which may be located at one or more of four Baystate Health Employee Health facilities in Springfield, Ware, Westfield and Greenfield.Provide clinical oversight for the Business and Health department at Baystate Mary Lane and Baystate Franklin Medical center to assure clinical quality and clinical oversight for services as required. 2) Provide management and oversight to the Program Manager Employee Health Services to drive the evolution of the Employee Health strategy to achieve Baystate Health's Workplace of choice goals.Serve as a primary thought leader for developing the role of employee health and wellness in support of a integrated health and productivity management to meet current and future business needs. 3) Accountable for Baystate Health policies that impact employee health, safety and well-being.Collaborates with the Director of Safety, Committee on Infectious disease, Ergonomics, Employee Assistance Program and other departments to assure policies meet BH business needs and regulatory requirements, and are accurate and up-to-date. 4) Collaborates with the Manager of Disability Management and medical directors to provided clinical expertise in managing challenging cases regarding worker's compensation, long-term disability and FMLA.Provides consultation to achieve a cost-effective and efficient process for helping employees return to productive work following a medical leave. 5) Serves as advisor for disability management, wellness and employee health benefits, safety and other internal teams.Helps analyze data (medical, drug, health risk, disability) to identify key cost drivers and opportunities to minimize time loss due to illness and injury and reduce excess medical costs. 6) Provides leadership and mentoring to clinical staff.Provides direct patient care for average of 8-10 hours per week.Works directly with clinical staff to support professional growth and development.Plays a key role in hiring, training and assessing performance for clinical staff.Plays a key role for developing a highly-engaged team for optimal work performance. 7) Accountable for compliance reporting.Reviews all reports and assures accuracy of data to meet regulatory requirements including OSHA, MDOH, TJC, ADA, FMLA, MDOL, DPH and others as required. 8) Responsible for department salary and expense budget, staff scheduling, capitol improvements and other operational issues as requested. 9) In collaboration with medical directors, provides clinical oversight for preventive and surveillance measures including immunizations, TB testing, etc.Provides clinical oversight for cases involving blood-body exposure, infectious disease exposures, drug testing, indoor air quality, hearing conservation, latex allergy, etc to assure quality care and effective case management. 10) Serves as an ambassador for Employee Health and the Health, Wellness and WorkLife solutions department internally across the Baystate Health enterprise and externally in the community.Develops relationships with BH leaders and physician groups. Recommends strategies for linking with BMP physicians effectively to achieve BH's Workplace of Choice goals and strategies. Required Work Experience: 1) 5 years clinical and demonstrated competancy in leadership role Preferred Work Experience: 1) Nurse Practitioner of Physician Assistant.
