JOB SUMMARY Provides clinic based services to children and families who have demonstrated (or are at risk for) low engagement in outpatient clinical services within traditional clinic settings. Services provided include individual and family therapy, parenting skills training, crisis management as needed and case management. Skills utilized include of a range of engagement skills with difficult-to-engage child and family clients as well as family advocacy and family therapy. Participates in the development and implementation of treatment plans modifying as appropriate during the course of service. Services provided are in collaboration with DCF, schools, and other community based providers as needed. Clinicians are responsible for attending weekly individual supervision and group supervision as needed, in addition to maintaining clinical documentation according to licensing, accreditation, Medicaid, and DCF requirements. Purposes of services are to increase utilization of services by difficult-to-engage child and family clients, and transition to traditional clinic-based outpatient services thereafter. There is expected consultation and coordination of care with Psychiatric providers. Must maintain productivity targets determined by service and remain current on all model training requirements. Experience and Skills: Master's degree in social work, psychology, or other licensed-eligible counseling degree with experience in early childhood development required Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred. Cultural competency to serve a diverse population Strong diagnostic, assessment and treatment skills for individual, family and group therapy. Extensive experience working with culturally diverse urban populations, a wide age range, and a variety of clinical presentations. Knowledge of mental health, child welfare systems, and community resources. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to function autonomously in day to day responsibilities; yet, seek consultation appropriately when needed. Proficiency with word processing and general computer skills. Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations. These responsibilities include but are not limited to, the ability to function safely in a therapeutic situation, including provision of services in client homes or host settings.
