The Director of Strategic Initiatives, Chief of Staff, Physician Services supports the SVP, Physician Operations and the Physician Operations Leadership Team in overseeing strategic business initiatives from development through to successful execution. This key position collaborates with senior leaders and executives across R1 and is responsible for improving current processes and coordinating organizational procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity. As a key member of the Physician Operations leadership team, the incumbent will deeply understand and improve corporate processes and program management across Physician Operations, and successfully implement progress with stakeholders across FMI. Responsibilities:

  • Function as the point person for the SVP, Physician Operations.
  • Lead key, strategic programs across Physician Operations to improve operational efficiency, improve organizational alignment & engagement, and increase customer satisfaction
  • Develop and oversee a central management system for operating and financial results across the division, building effective communication and intervention protocols to quickly remediate defects and promote cross-functional problem solving when needed
  • Build and develop relationships for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness, and help to define new operational strategies, working with SVP and other leaders and stakeholders on special projects.
  • Measure progress and report on initiatives agreed upon by Physician Operations leaders, including identifying the processes needed to align.
  • Support financial planning and budgeting activities, using analysis and insights to help operations produce reliable, timely forecasts for key measures
  • Prepare divisional performance updates for executives and C-suite level stakeholders
  • Provide "sounding board" active listening and the application of knowledge and expertise to problem solve a broad range of areas that impact progress.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications.
  • Work on efforts to drive an inclusive and diverse culture and continue to strengthen our talent pipeline. Required Qualifications:--
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 5+ years of experience in in a business management role, with a focus on strategy, operational administration, and/or interdepartmental collaboration
    • Experience leading and managing strategic initiatives and as well as developing and delivering presentations to senior management and large groups
    • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to create content with a deep understanding of industry-specific subject matter, and company standards
    • Excellent decision-making, communication and collaboration skills with proven cross-functional and multi-level relationship building skills
    • Strong analytical skills, with experience in budgeting, planning and pro-forma analysis
    • Strong people leadership skills, ability to motivate and respectfully challenge multi-disciplinary teams to meet objectives and achieve results
    • Align to R1s values, mission, and vision
    • Developed negotiation and interpersonal skills
    • Strong analytical skills and ability
    • Extensive experience in leading, mentoring, and motivating teams
    • Results and deadline driven, working well under high pressure situations while staying resourceful, tactful, persistent, and flexible in responding to rapidly changing demands
    • Comfortable dealing with and handling highly confidential information
    • Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data
    • Excellent organization and attention to detail Desired Qualifications:
      • Masters Degree or MBA
      • Management Consulting experience
