Job Description:
A large insurance company is seeking a Medical Economics Analyst
to join their Finance and Reporting team, working a hybrid schedule
in Springfield, MA. This person will assist in the development of
key utilization, financial metrics, and benchmarks to establish a
current baseline and to provide the basis for calculating potential
and recognized cost savings, as well as assist in the development
of visualization and key metrics at the company and customer level
using tools such as Tableau. They will respond to customer requests
for analysis by building ongoing and ad hoc data analysis and will
develop an improved business case and savings estimate capabilities
to enable more accurate and deeper projections. They must
consistently work with the business and functional areas to provide
data to support improvement in operational effectiveness. They will
analyze emerging medical cost trends to understand the larger
medical cost picture to provide timely insight into claim cost
drivers for the business leaders and identification of new
improvement opportunities and will assist in the development and
management of the Medical Management Report so that it becomes a
valued resource to management. They will do this using medical
economics, analytical experience, and knowledge to facilitate idea
generation and quantification of savings initiatives.-Experience
with tableau-3-5+ years of Data analysis experience and
proficiency, primarily with medical claims.-Bachelors degree in
relevant major or equivalent work experience.-Prior experience
working in health insurance or a similar field.-Experience with
Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau,Alteryx)-Advanced
Excel skills.-Experience with data mining/query tools (i.e., SQL,
Access, SQL queries).-Analytical, detail-oriented, critical
thinker, and able to work independently.-Ability to prepare and
present reports with conclusions reflecting solid analysis of
underlying data.
