POSITION SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner reports to CorpCare Director. APRN provides primary occupational health care to adults employed by businesses served by CorpCare Occupational Health Center. Primary occupational care is defined as the care the employee receives at the point of contact with CorpCare and the continued care of the individual upon request of the employer for those conditions and services arising in/out of the course of employment. Assists the RN in clearing of charts for physical exams and blood borne occupational exposures. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION Must hold a State of Connecticut Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure.Must have a valid driver's license in order to make required occasional on-site company visits. EXPERIENCE Have at least two (2) years of primary care work experience. COMPETENCIES Must have strong verbal and written communication skills using the English language. Job-Specific Competency 1. Maintains patient flow to optimize physician time and achieve patient throughput to designated standards. 2. Administers Intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal medications per standards and documents with no errors per month. 3. Performs EKG tracing according to procedure to deliver clear, accurate and high fidelity results. 4. Performs PPD Mantoux skin test to standard. 5. Performs pre-employment, periodic and regulatory mandated physical exams in accordance with established CorpCare protocols and procedures. 6. Completes injury visit sheets with diagnosis, medications, x-ray interpretation and work restrictions when applicable at the time of visit with no omissions. 7. Completes documentation for physical exam visits at completion of appointment. 8. Reviews all documentation and examination results for selected physical exams within 48 hours or as authorized by medical director. 9. Completes discharge process by instructing patient in work restrictions, medication directions (including side effects) and scheduling follow up appointments. 10. Completes follow up process on all patients with missed appointments for counseling or lab work related to a blood borne pathogen exposure. 11. Communicates test results to patients according to policy.
