Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN)

psychiatric nursing experience in an inpatient setting License: RN
License Certifications: BLS, CPI Must-Have: Strong boundaries and
work ethic, compassionate care for those struggling with substance
use disorder, punctuality, professionalism, and readiness to
support clients and staff. Description: The Registered Nurse is
responsible for providing nursing care to patients. Supervising
care treatment and services provided by nursing staff on assigned
unit and shift. Developing, implementing, and evaluating an
individual plan of care for each patient. Assessment and
re-assessment of patients are essential responsibilities.
Communicating appropriate information with the interdisciplinary
team is required. Reporting patient concerns and changes in
condition to a supervisor and/or physician in a timely manner is
crucial. The RN ensures that nursing treatment plans are specific
to assessed needs. The initial treatment plan is to be completed
upon admission. Transcribing and reviewing physician's orders
accurately is necessary. Administration of medications per ordered
note must be executed with diligence. Adjusting medications under a
provider’s supervision as needed is expected. Monitoring lab
results to validate medication compliance is required. Conducting
psychoeducation and life skills groups may be necessary. Notifying
a physician of significant changes in status is essential.
Supervising the self-administration of medications using patient
identification is needed. Thorough documentation for all patients
is required on each shift. Conferring regularly with the treatment
team regarding patient care is expected. Participation in unit
activities such as therapy groups and meetings is required.
Providing education to patients, families, and co-workers regarding
medication usage is necessary. Monitoring patient acuity and
staffing needs and making coverage arrangements is expected.
Completing admission and discharge processes efficiently is
required. Thorough reporting to oncoming staff and supervisors is
crucial. Providing coverage in emergency services as needed is part
of the role.
