welfare programs to act as a key manager for program vendors,
including medical, prescription, dental, vision, life and
To help us achieve our mission, we are hiring a Head of Health and
Welfare Benefits to join our team.
What great looks like in this role
The Head of Health and Welfare Benefits will advise on plan
management and vendor capabilities issues to impact benefits
strategy and design decisions. You'll use your skills to ensure the
efficient transition from strategy design to execution. The ideal
candidate has strong employee and vendor relationship skills,
financial aptitude, and attention to detail, working on self and
fully insured group benefits. You'll act as a lead in identifying,
analyzing and addressing service issues, whether they are
individual or larger systemic ones.
Objectives of this role
- Manage large operational projects, both ad hoc and annual.
- Work with Legal, vendor and any other parties to ensure
compliance and risk management issues are considered and managed
- Impact the efficient transition of work from strategy creation
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Manage staff of two benefits specialists
- Act as key point of contact and subject matter expert in health
and welfare strategy and initiatives on cross-functional
- Provide input and advice relative to plan management and vendor
- Lead in identifying, analyzing and addressing service issues,
recommend and implement short and long term corrections to resolve
Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of health, insurance & wellness program
design and vendor management. Advanced project management skills.
Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of experience.
