POSITION TITLE: CORPORATE CENTER STORE CATEGORY MANAGER

SUMMARY OF ROLE: Exceed our customers' evolving expectations by ensuring World Class support to all locations in order to provide a pleasant and rewarding shopping experience. Our corporate center store sales manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the profit and loss for assigned categories; through hiring, training, supervising, goal setting, decision-making, and collaborating with employees and business partners.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Business and 5+ years' experience preferred.

2. Ability to maintain high degree of ethics, integrity and confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

1. Recruit, interview and select employees.

2. Supervise, direct, set goals and delegate tasks using independent judgment.

3. Arrange for ongoing training and communication with all employees working within your area.

4. Cultivate growth through the development of high potential employees.

5. Evaluate, coach, reward, recognize employees and celebrate successes.

6. Handle conflict and counsel employees that require disciplinary actions up to and including termination.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Collaborate and work effectively within the department as well as with other Big Y departments including Store Brands, Space

Management, Marketing, Pricing, Supply Chain, and Operations.

2. Manage the 3rd party relationship with the Natural/Organic/Specialty suppliers and assist stores with any opportunities with this(these) suppliers.

3. Develop and implement merchandising and marketing programs for assigned categories by collaborating with the other Sales

Managers and Marketing dept.
4. Achieve Budgeted Sales and Gross Profit goals by category.

5. Drive Speed and Innovation in creating business plans to achieve Market Share growth.

6. Actively participate in category reviews as scheduled and/or as needed.

7. Work with Space Management to implement new items, de-list non-performers, and create Innovative planograms.

8. Complete quarterly scorecards to measure and report on the business.

9. Schedule and participate in the Joint Business Planning process with business partners

10. Meet with brokers and manufacturers to negotiate deals to support promotional requirements.

11. Process deals for weekly ads and other marketing themes.

12. Insure proper billing of all money due Big Y from category products.

13. Work with Trade Desk to generate incremental sells & buys and to enhance Gross Profit.

14. Review competitive ads in general marketing area, and visit competition and our stores on a regular basis.

15. Remain current with all category trends via contacts, publications and trade shows.

16. Work with wholesaler or the distribution center to order product for upcoming sale plans.

17. Order and display seasonal or in/out product for the stores, managing inventory from the buy to sales at pos.

18. Communicate to store personnel to resolve issues and convey opportunities.

19. Assist internal and external customers /vendors with any issues; follow through to ensure resolution.
20. Engage in and encourage continuous improvement through ideas and innovation (e.g., _My Voice)._

21. Adhere to and enforce all government employment and labor regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures (e.g _., _ employment laws concerning minors, harassment, discrimination, etc.).

22. Adhere to and enforce all government food safety and sanitation regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures.

23. Adhere to and enforce all government safety regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures.

24. Adhere to and enforce all Company loss prevention policies and procedures.

25. Complete all training requirements by respective due dates.
