Category Manager - HCP & HCO, Market Access, US Medical Affairs is
a key business partner serving as a strategic liaison between
business strategy and Procurement. The role ensures
cost-effectiveness, quality, compliance, and innovation in
acquiring and deploying goods and services within scope. Global
Category Manager - HCP & HCO, Market Access, US Medical Affairs
leads category strategies and initiatives within USA Medical
Affairs and Global Market Access, develops and executes innovative
sourcing approaches, and drives value creation beyond cost,
including patient-centric solutions, digital innovations, and
supplier-enabled transformation. Acts as the primary Procurement
Business Partner for in-scope business units and functions,
ensuring alignment between local, regional, and global procurement
strategies and business needs. Develops and implements strategies
for Global Market Access categories not fully supported by regional
teams, ensuring tailored local solutions while staying aligned with
enterprise direction. Ensures high-quality end-user experience by
addressing business needs proactively, leveraging cross-functional
teams, and fostering supplier partnerships that deliver
performance, compliance, and innovation. ACCOUNTABILITIES Lead,
design, and implement regional category strategies for Medical
Affairs and global Market Access, ensuring alignment with Takeda’s
enterprise goals. Provide regional and functional input to global
category strategies, ensuring Regional Medical Affairs and Market
Access needs are fully represented. Delivery on key performance
metrics (savings, innovation, payment terms, compliance, supplier
performance, stakeholder satisfaction). Build and maintain a
pipeline of innovative sourcing initiatives, balancing cost, speed,
patient impact, and value-add opportunities. Serve as single point
of contact and trusted advisor for senior stakeholders within
Regional Medical Affairs and Global Market Access, translating
business needs into procurement strategies and execution. Partner
with the Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE) and Innovation
teams to integrate supplier-enabled innovation, digital tools, and
advanced analytics into sourcing practices. Lead supplier
relationship management and strategic supplier collaboration,
ensuring continuous improvement, joint innovation, and compliance
with Takeda’s Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct. Drive
Procurement change management and process transformation to
simplify sourcing, improve compliance, and elevate user experience.
Representing Regional Medical Affairs and Global Market Access in
global/regional forums, sharing best practices and adopting global
standards. Monitor performance of Procurement initiatives and
provide transparent updates to business stakeholders and
leadership. Create a culture of compliance, innovation, and
partnership both internally and externally. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE,
KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS Required: Bachelor and Advanced degree
preferred. Minimum 10 years of procurement/sourcing experience with
strong expertise in indirect categories, ideally within Medical
Affairs, Market Access, Marketing, Consulting, or related areas.
Strong track record in managing complex, global sourcing projects,
supplier negotiations, and stakeholder engagement. Demonstrated
success in driving innovation through suppliers, technology
adoption, and new business models. Experience in international,
matrixed organizations with cross-cultural collaboration. Strong
leadership, influencing, and communication skills. Excellent
negotiation and supplier relationship management expertise. Fluent
in English (written & spoken). Preferred: Healthcare,
pharmaceutical, or biotech industry experience. Familiarity with
patient-centric solutions, digital health, real-world evidence, or
market access program vendors. Functional / Process / Behavioral
Skills: High ethics, integrity, and compliance mindset. Strategic,
enterprise-level thinking with agility to adapt to evolving
business needs. Strong project management and change management
skills. Analytical and financial acumen. Ability to establish trust
and credibility as a true business partner. Resilience,
adaptability, and innovative problem-solving mindset. TRAVEL
REQUIREMENT Up to 15% of time for stakeholder meetings, supplier

Cambridge - Kendall Square - 500 U.S. Base Salary Range:
$153,600.00 - $241,340.00 The estimated salary range reflects an
anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered
may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of
the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant
experience, specific and unique skills, level of education
attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and
the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they
will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be
in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the
job location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term
and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible
to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan
and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage,
basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid
