Lets grow together!NextMark Credit Union is currently seeking a full-time Member Service Specialist I at our Springfield branch. This position also assists members with loan applications, and processes and disburses loans. This position is 37+ hours per week, Monday through Saturday. The Member Service Specialist I reports to the Branch Manager.Major Duties and Responsibilities: 40% Assists members with opening and closing accounts, answers questions about products and services and resolves problems that are within their authority to resolve. Processes and makes loan disbursements. Refers problems that are beyond their authority to their supervisor, along with their recommendations.35% Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; collects fees; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed; and maintains member account information. Runs teller drawer as needed.10% Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sells services to members.5% Ensures appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared.5% Acts as liaison between members and various organizations and departments.5% Performs other duties as assigned.Expectations: Provide prompt, consistent, courteous service to all members and prospective members. Assist those waiting in the lobby as quickly as possible. Implement all aspects of The Member Advantage program.Demonstrate knowledge of products and promotions and ability to correctly identify and confidently recommend products that meet members' needs. Attend training sessions and complete assignments on time.Achieve assigned monthly sales and service goals.Demonstrate proficiency in the usage of the core processing system and other branch systems and online and mobile applications. Stay current with system upgrades. Attend training sessions and complete assignments on time. Balance 100% of the time.Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike manner. Adhere to attendance and schedule expectations.Must follow proper policies and procedures when opening all types of accounts, certificates, loans, and other products and services. Complete and submit all new account, deposit, and loan related paper work to imaging within two days of origination with no errors. Ensure all laws, regulations, and policies & procedures of the Credit Union are followed including but not limited to all BSA/USA PATRIOT Act, HMDA, Check 21, CTR, SAR, and HMDA requirements.Knowledge and Skills: Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.Education: A high school diploma or GED.Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.Other Skills/Requirements: Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work within deadlines and under pressure. Microsoft Office proficient (includes Word, Outlook, and Excel). Utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to, PC, electronic document storage system, copier, fax, telephone, etc. Must pass background check, maintain ability to be bonded, and maintain MLO registration with the NMLS.Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or sit at a desk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.Work Environment: A financial institution branch environment.
