**This position is contingent upon award.** POSITION OVERVIEW Provide technical and subject matter expertise support to NGA Research for existing and planned R&D programs, market research of emerging and existing state of the art technologies, acquisition of new capabilities, organizational management including business process and communications, and support to technology transfer and transition. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) The Foundational GEOINT Office focuses on the creation of always accurate, high-resolution, continually updated representations of the earth's properties, available on demand. The Foundation pod advances capabilities and disruptive technologies to observe, extract, represent, and attribute natural and man-made features, terrain, and bathymetry to characterize the earth and its populations. It exploits geospatial data to build future GEOINT capabilities addressing systemic and emerging defense and intelligence issues.

• Provide expertise in modeling of human geography, terrain, and environmental mapping and models, data workflow and automation, and application of AI, and ML to this technical area.
• Determine the geolocation accuracy of data and GEOINT products generated by concept and actual collection systems by analyzing their design and performance parameters. Also consider each system's operating environment and the impact it may have on its geolocation accuracy JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Expert in photogrammetry as applied to remote sensing and image registration. Expertise with optical sensor Line of Sight models for complex systems, including advanced non-axisymmetric systems and those with movable optical elements, and inclusion of numerical models. Expert knowledge of geometric calibration, including stellar calibration, simulation of sensor geolocation accuracy and robust error propagation. Familiarity with photogrammetric and related standards and with NGA tools and products such as Community Sensor Models, Measurement Support Program and Digital Point Positioning Data Base. Qualifications include: Education
  • Bachelor's degree, Master's Degree, or PhD in Photogrammetry, Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines. Government or military training or education may be substituted for degree. Experience
