Job Description:
VentureWell's development team works closely with organizational
leadership, program staff, and other supporting departments to
enable VentureWell's growth through new and sustained funding and
strategic partnerships.
The Development Associate role is an opportunity for a highly
organized, proactive, curious, and technologically savvy individual
to join our team. Previous experience in development is helpful but
not required; what's important is a capacity for integrating
complex information, an eagerness to solve problems and improve
systems, and an interest in contributing to both the details and
the big picture of VentureWell's work. Past experience in a
coordination or administrative role is required.
The Development Associate will support our growing team in several
ways, including maintaining accurate data within our systems,
coordinating meetings and managing projects, providing core
administrative support, and assisting team members in the creation
of proposals, reports, research, presentations, and other projects.
Strong relational and communication skills and attention to detail
are required.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance the team's use of systems and tools
- Serve as the primary coordinator of our data systems, ensuring
accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data (this involves
entering and updating data, reconciliation, running reports,
document filing, etc.)
- Collaborate to enhance and expand our use of Salesforce and
other tools
- Assist staff with capturing notes on external conversations and
entering them into Salesforce
- Manage the development calendar
- Provide general coordination and support
- Assist with meetings: scheduling, assembling agendas, taking
notes, and tracking follow up
- Collect and keep up-to-date information frequently used with
funding proposals (most recent audited financial statement, 501(c)3
status letter, board lists, bios, etc. )
- Create, compile, and/or format development materials (e.g.,
presentations, internal communications)
- Maintain funder files
- Manage team subscriptions and logistics
- Support the creation of proposals and reports
- Conduct preliminary research on funders
- Track reporting schedules and requirements
- Monitor pipeline tracking reports
- Assist with supporting materials (e.g. letters of support,
charts and graphics, references)
- Submit proposals through online portals
- Other projects and tasks based on interest and ability
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Organizational skills: ability to track workflows, follow up
consistently, and coordinate projects
- Comfort with technology: adept in the use of Google apps, MS
Office, and Salesforce or a similar CRM; ability and willingness to
learn new applications quickly
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; able to
collaborate effectively with a wide range of people
- Ability t o juggle and prioritize multiple tasks throughout the
day, adapt to a sometimes unpredictable w orkflow with flexibility,
and remain cool under pressure
- Strong communication skills: able to write clearly and capture
meeting notes, internal communications, etc.
