Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
(AI/ML) Accelerator has an exciting internship available for a
student interested in AI Ethics. Our team is undertaking a broad
set of initiatives in AI Ethics and seeks an intern to support
development of research and policy materials in this area. The
intern will perform research on specific ethical frameworks of
relevance to our work, including virtue-based, deontological, and
consequentialist approaches. The intern will research and develop
materials on human ethical baselines to support comparative
research and assist in the development of glossaries for specific
terms in AI ethics, trust, and responsibility. The intern will also
assist in development of processes for effective AI project
governance.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop white papers and reports in specific areas of AI
Ethics
- Collect and synthesize research findings in human and machine
ethics
- Assist members of the Leidos AI community in preparing
materials for public presentations on AI Ethics
- Assist the Leidos AI Ethics working group in development of
process, workflows, and governance models for AI EthicsBASIC
QUALIFICATIONS
- Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Political
Science, Management or other related degree, maintaining a minimum
3.0 GPA
- Completed at least 2 years toward their degree and have
demonstrated a record of high performance and a willingness to
learn and grow
- Relevant skills in policy research
- Strong interest in Ethics and Technology
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office SuitePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing independent research materials in ethics
and policy
- Strong quantitative skills and detail oriented
- Basic skills in problem solving, prioritization and time
management
- Ability to quickly learn new techniques/skills
- Ability to Work in a team environment and work under
pressure
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with
a variety of
- Excellent organization and communication skills, both verbal
and written
- Ability to think outside the box and identify issues, providing
resolutions quickly
- Must be adaptable and able to manage and prioritize diverse
projectsPAY RANGE:
- $44,200.00 - $68,000.00 - $91,800.00The Leidos pay range for
this job level is a general guideline only--and not a guarantee of
compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending
an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the
job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as
well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable
bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
