ShiftDescription:Trinity Health Of New England is looking for an
experienced PCT (Patient Care Technician) to join our team of
mission-driven healthcare innovators at Johnson Memorial Hospital.

for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to
patients with a variety of medical conditions.Under the direct
supervision of the Registered Nurse, the PCT collects and reports
patient information and data as directed; helps assigned patients
with all activities of daily living, including personal hygiene,
diet and fluid intake, elimination, skin care, bathing and
dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility, and ambulation and may
also perform selected tasks, such as patient transport, collection
of specimens, distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms,
and delivery of ice and beverages to patients as directed. - - As
assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor safety. - - -The
PCT provides care according to hospital procedures in a manner that
protect the safety and dignity of patients. - - PCTs in the Float
Pool are trained to cover shifts within Medical-Surgical, Critical
Care, Behavioral, and Emergency Departments. - The PCTs under
direction of the Charge Nurse/Nurse Manager may also perform
secretarial tasks to aid in the flow of the unit.The PCT provides
care according to hospital procedures in a manner that protects the

- Must work every other weekend & holidayYou Will Be Responsible
For:
- Exceptional Patient Care: Performs and assists patients with
activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, positioning,
skin care, ambulating, and toileting. Performs and documents in the
patients' electronic health record (EHR), basic nursing care such
as ADLs, collecting routine specimens, vital signs, intake, output
and weight.
- Excellent Communicator: Performs all tasks as delegated by the
Registered Nurse. - Communicates routinely with the Registered
Nurse and immediately reports any findings or concerns.
- Strong Educator: Educate patients and family members so that
they have a transparent understanding of the care being
provided.
- Technical Familiarity: - Performs procedures and treatments
such as EKGs, point of care testing, application and monitoring of
patient's response to restraints and constant observation.
- Active Teamwork: Demonstrates problem solving, conflict
resolution, and positive communication through
teamwork.Requirements:
- Education: A High School diploma or equivalent. Will consider a
graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program,
Certification as a Medical Assistant, Certified Connecticut Nursing
Assistant, active Connecticut Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or
1-year nursing school student which includes clinical
rotations.
- Certification: AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED certification
required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Effective communication, organizational and critical thinking
skills.Preferred Skills: -
- Experience: Previous experience as a PCT/ Nursing Assistant in
