General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated and
experienced individual to serve as Deputy Division Chief of the
Consumer Advocacy & Response Division (CARD) within the Public
Protection & Advocacy Bureau. CARD receives and reviews complaints,
advocates on behalf of Massachusetts consumers, and implements
settlements entered into by the Attorney General's Office (AGO) in
various areas relating to the Office's consumer protection efforts,
including: debt collection, mortgage lending and servicing,
housing, automobile sales and lending, utilities, and professional
services. The Division also provides referrals and other assistance
to consumers, performs research, engages in community outreach, and
participates in public education trainings.Primary Duties: The
Deputy Division Chief in CARD plays a central role in the Office's
handling of consumer complaints and inquiries from members of the
public. The Deputy Division Chief oversees the review,
investigation, and resolution of consumer complaints filed with the
AGO. Such oversight includes the assignment of consumer complaints,
managing team workflow, fostering team collaboration, and serving
as a training and information resource for division staff. The
Deputy Division Chief provides training and support related to
consumer protection subject matter and skills development for
consumer specialists and administrative staff in the Division. The
Deputy Division Chief will assist with handling complex projects
within the Division and is expected to support cross-divisional
work and communicate effectively with outside agencies to maintain
and foster those relationships. The Deputy Division Chief fosters a
positive work environment in CARD, working with all staff, interns,
and volunteers in the Division, across all four AGO offices. This
role is based in Boston but requires occasional travel to the AGO's
regional offices in Worcester, Springfield, and New
Bedford.Position Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt. Our current hybrid
model includes some remote workdays for most positions.You will be

963-2922Position Requirements: A bachelor's degree or equivalent
experience is required. Preference will be given to those with a
J.D. from an accredited law school. Preference will also be given
to those with experience in individual consumer advocacy,
mediation, or intake services in a legal, government, or nonprofit
setting. Experience overseeing and supporting the work of others is
also preferred. Preference also will be given to applicants who
have demonstrated experience working with diverse populations. The
ability to speak and understand Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian
Creole, or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is a plus. A writing
sample is required of all applicants.The position requires
excellent interpersonal, organizational, program planning, and
analytical skills; effective writing skills and reading
comprehension; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency
using a database; a proven record of sound judgment and decision
making; and proven customer service skills. The successful
candidate must be able to work independently and in a team
environment and be able to work with multiple deadlines across a
variety of projects. Applicants should possess experience providing
