Job Description-- We are looking for an experienced, senior leader with a successful track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams across the business, analytics and technology. This individual will work on migrating Discover's data and analytics ecosystem to Cloud and next gen technologies. This individual needs to demonstrate both breadth and depth across multiple disciplines including Analytics and Cloud-based solutions. Responsibilities

• Partner with Business teams, Data engineers and Analysts to understand current environment and develop architecture patterns and blueprints that can be leveraged on Cloud
• Create, present, and deliver data and platform solutions, roadmaps, and featured use cases at customer meetings, working sessions, educational sessions, and events
• Help build a culture of learning and innovation with a focus on learning new data technologies / practices and spearheading adoption within the organization
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in technology communities and act as an internal mentor to users of these platforms
• Develops and maintains complex front-ends with a focus on user experience
• Develops and maintains backend systems
• Uses holistic knowledge of all products in the team's ecosystem to plan how new systems will be built and integrated
• Innovates on and advocates for best practices and improved processes within the team and with internal partners; stays up to date with technology trends and innovations; mentors team members
• Creates and maintains DevOps processes, application infrastructure, and utilizes cloud services (including database systems and models)
• Supports live systems to ensure business continuity Skills Required
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, or related field
  • 8+ years of work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • In lieu of education experience, 10+ years of work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years' experience working with AWS technologies or other cloud providers
  • 2+ years' experience in Financial services
  • Building data-analytic solutions leveraging technologies including Tableau, Spark, Kafka, Python, R,
  • Working experience in Cloud transformation for analytics
  • Hands-on experience building prototypes and solutions using modern Data-analytic tools
  • Experience architecting Real-time solutions to enable business capabilities
  • Proven track record of mentoring team in adopting new technologies
  • Proficiency with Cloud technologies and concepts, Real-time analytics, Streaming data platform and machine learning tools
  • Experience migrating traditional architectures to next-gen data-analytic technology solutions
  • Hands-on experience integrating open source components into data-analytic solutions
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or Postgres and understanding of columnar data stores such as Redshift or Snowflake---
