This position provides responsive and skilled building and grounds maintenance with attention to hospital-safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining a safe environment for the Center. The Maintenance Technician works independently and efficiently to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations for the Center as assigned by the Facilities Lead Maintenance Technician and/or the Facilities Director. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment. The Maintenance Technician's duties include fixing machinery, plumbing, heating, wiring, snow removal, office moves, inspecting buildings to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs with patients and staff. The Maintenance Technician's responsibilities include managing work orders, conduct preventive maintenance and routine safety inspections. The Maintenance Technician will be involved in performing routine maintenance around the building, such as fixing structural damage, performing window, door or wall repairs. The Maintenance Technician will provide oversight for the maintenance of mechanical equipment, appliances, plumbing, heating units, air-conditioning, locks, wood works, phones, and other communications systems. The Maintenance Technician will be part of the on-call rotation program along with other members of the team. The Maintenance Technician will have direct contact with patients, staff and visitors, therefore the incumbent should possess exceptional customer service abilities and extensive technical knowledge. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen or fail. Required Qualifications: - High School, Trade school graduate preferred or significant building and technical experience. - Computer literacy and able to work and understand BMS system and maintenance management software. - Current driver's license with good driving record. - Hoisting and skid steer license required (ARC willing to provide). - Minimum 5 years general maintenance experience working in construction or structured maintenance setting required.

  • Demonstrated experience managing, coaching, guiding, and directing maintenance and custodial personnel. - Proficiency in technical disciplines including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC systems, painting and phone systems. - Solid mechanical knowledge with demonstrated organizational skills and effective communication abilities. - Demonstrated ability to use power equipment and tools effectively and safely. - Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. - Ability to work with a wide variety of people and maintain patients' rights at all times. - Required to follow universal precaution at all times. - Ability to lift, walk, reach, bend, push, pull, climb stairs and heights. - Must be able to prioritize and handle situations with staff and/or patients; always being aware of boundaries. - Performs all duties as assigned. Job Requirements:ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS AND EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS: May be exposed to dust, noise, heights, inclement weather, chemicals, and may involve working with certain types of power equipment and electricity. - ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB: Frequent lifting more than 70 pounds. - Extensive bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, pulling, walking, climbing stairs, and ladders, and shoveling snow. - ESSENTIAL MENTAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB: Ability to meet deadlines despite multiple interruptions during the day. - Able to concentrate on jobs and tasks at hand with occasional distractions from patients and staff. Ability to concentrate, prioritize and organize. Ability to read, speak and write English to communicate with staff and patients effectively. - MANUAL DEXTERITY REQUIREMENTS: Ability to maneuver heights on ladders. Ability to safety operate varied vehicles/equipment, including but not limited to, ski steer, snowplow, sander, and snow blower. Able to use electric and gas-powered tools and manual equipment.
