Do you enjoy the challenge of translating data specifications into the information people are really after? We love that work too and are seeking a Senior Institutional Data Analyst to join us.
Using business intelligence tools within a SQL-based Ellucian Colleague environment, you will support the campus in leveraging information used in decision making and planning. The Senior Institutional Data Analyst will work closely with college staff responsible for the internal and external reporting of key metrics.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Collaborating with Institutional Research and IT in the interpretation of and compliance with institutional reporting requirements and submissions (e.g., IPEDS, Perkins, HEIRS, VFA)
  • Coordinating internal enrollment reporting and developing dashboard solutions to track KPIs for senior leadership
  • Collaborating closely with administrative and academic departments to ensure a common understanding of data requirements and data definitions
  • Building and maintaining reporting solutions per requirements, to include managing, updating and maintaining the Institutional Research Data Mart and Custom Tables at regular intervals.
  • Developing and executing data quality assurance procedures
  • Participating on committees as assigned
  • Performing other related duties as requested and working flexible hours when necessary.


    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree is preferred.
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience with higher education, as well as:
    • Design and development experience with Business Intelligence tools including dashboards (e.g., Business Objects, Tableau, PowerBI)
    • Extensive SQL experience (SSRS, SSIS)
    • Knowledge of Colleague component architecture (data tables, fields) or similar ERP system and ability to quickly learn Colleague
    • MS Office Suite mastery
    • MS Access and VBA experience
    • Working understanding of key institutional business practices and reporting metrics
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret specifications and design solutions
    • Experience creating systems and quality assurance documentation
    • Strong Project Management Skills
    • Java, Python, or R experience a plus
    • Enthusiasm for problem solving; demonstrated ability to create effective solutions to complex tasks
    • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at various stages of data fluency

      Working Conditions/Physical Demands
      Working in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. While performing the duties of this job, some movement is required in the office. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery etc. Operates a computer and multiple technologies.
      Additional Information:
      SALARY: $75,000 - $80,000 Annually
      BENEFITS: Yes-State Funded
