segment of the energy industry! The Senior Business Analyst,
Financial Operations Position Sunnova Energy is searching for a
Senior Business Analyst of Financial Operations. This newly created
position will be responsible for creating efficiencies and within
the Finance organization by functionally designing and developing
global Finance processes and tools. In support of Sunnova's ongoing
expansion and scale, this role will initially focus on process,
systems, and tool enhancements and related change management.
Success will be measured in the near term by achieving throughput
efficiencies in support of the FP&A organization while being
able to routinely drive continuous improvement across the
organization to achieve greater efficiencies and scalability.
Senior Business Analyst, Financial Operations Responsibilities
Strategy
- Defines and proposes priorities for the Finance organization by
analyzing processes, requests, and issues.
- Creates the project charter, timeline, project plans, status
reports, resource plans, and triages issues as they arise
- Identifies impact and ownership within dependent
cross-functional teams such as Finance, IT, Commercial Operations,
and Service & Energy Operations to involve the impacted
stakeholders.
- Coordinates with Finance, Accounting, IT, and other
stakeholders as needed to diagnose issues, and processes and
designs appropriate solutions.
- Facilitates large meetings with diverse partner groups;
includes kickoff meetings, status meetings, steering committee,
design sessions, issue meetings, etc.
- Simplifies project delivery by removing ambiguity and creating
structure for highly complex activities
- Anticipates information needs, identifies gaps, and organizes
data and communications cohesively and clearly
- Creates scale and promotes consistency through implementation
of tools for enhancing prioritization, documentation, design, or
delivery for Financial Operations to support the greater Finance
organization.
Operations
- Increases speed to perform routine forecasting functions via
improved processes, streamlined data sets and global training
efforts
- Improves the organization's ability, via better tools,
processes and data reporting to perform meaningful analysis and
provide faster and more actionable information to be used by the
organization to drive results
- Documents current and future-state processes to create support
for changes through flowcharts, business requirements documents,
data definitions, etc.
- Drives continuous improvement in processes across the Finance
organization and supports change management as needed.
- Creates tools to support Finance organization as applicable or
oversees and monitors IT enhancement or project process to be a
steward for Finance. Assists with design, testing, and rollout of
changes.
- Creates new reports or ad hoc data requests, identifying data
impact and ownership within dependent cross-functional teams such
as Finance, IT, Commercial Operations, and Service & Energy
Operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information
Technology or related area.
- 4-6+ years' experience managing and driving continuous change
and improvements in processes with increasing levels of
responsibility
- Experience in process mapping and business requirements
documentation.
- Public company experience
- Deep knowledge of financial systems capabilities, finance and
accounting processes, and an understanding of the business and
systems needs to define processes, propose solutions, and document
functional capabilities for requirements.
- Experience partnering cross functionally with multiple
departments (e.g., Finance, Accounting, FP&A, IT, Supply Chain,
Operations, etc.)
- Experience with reporting/data analytics tools through design
and creation of reports, dashboards, and queries.
- Experience working in budgeting and forecasting tools with a
track record demonstrating a thorough understanding of their
structure
- Proven track record of timely analyzing and summarizing
extremely large quantities of data.
- Very strong aptitude for learning, can quickly grasp complex
concepts and data and summarize for relevant key messages, and are
comfortable driving change and managing within a high-growth
business
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Working knowledge of the Agile methodology
- Certified Business Analyst
- Certification or training in change management
methodologies
- Previous experience in renewable energy
- Working knowledge of Tableau
- Working knowledge of an RPA tool
- Experience with data management of financial master data
- 3 - 5 years' experience in an energy market and/or financial
service industry
