R12328: Compliance Consultant -- Hybrid -- US*We are hiring for either our Boston, MA or Springfield, MA office locations in a Hybrid setting where you will be onsite 2-3 days per week*.The OpportunityAs a Compliance Consultant on the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Teams you will divide your time between two functions to research and review Sanctions matches and also review potential Anti-Money Laundering cases. You will formally investigate, document, escalate, and analyze risks to both areas. You will also monitor applicable laws and regulations relating to both functions and can develop and provide insight into compliance risk assessments, metrics, business awareness, and education needs as part of a team of compliance professionals.The TeamThe Sanctions and AML Compliance teams are part of the Financial Crimes & Fraud Prevention Compliance team, which sits within the Compliance & Ethics Department and is responsible for our fraud prevention; anti-money laundering and economic sanctions; anti-corruption; data governance, security and privacy; and elder financial exploitation compliance strategies and programs.Working as an integrated team of subject matter experts, Financial Crimes & Fraud Prevention Compliance aligns various compliance efforts to manage financial crimes and fraud compliance risk. While the team is organized by risk (anti-money laundering and economic sanctions; data governance, security and privacy; anti-corruption; elder financial exploitation and fraud) functional integration within the same team enables the Financial Crimes & Fraud Prevention Compliance team to effectively manage financial crime, fraud and privacy compliance risk across the organization. This is accomplished by fostering greater and consistent coordination and communications with business lines and other control functions, developing an overall financial crimes and fraud risk assessment and risk appetite, sharing and analyzing key data across financial crimes, fraud and data privacy/security prevention activities and efficiently managing workflow, cases, activity.The long-term vision of the Financial Crimes & Fraud Prevention Compliance team is to develop a program that owns a portfolio of financial crimes, fraud and data privacy/security-related compliance risks managed across common strategies, with shared resources, greater coordination within the team, and greater coordination, communication and consultation with our fellow Compliance & Ethics Department colleagues, control functions and business partnersThe Impact:As a Compliance Consultant on both the Sanctions and AML teams, you will collaborate with team members, as well as well as internal business partners. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Research and monitor potential Sanctions matches.
  • Review and resolve potential Money Laundering cases.
  • Provide guidance and training to Home Office business units regarding various Company policies and procedures involving AML and Sanctions
  • Assist in responses to regulator and internal audit requests.
  • Assist in preparation and evaluation of external reviews and regulatory inquiries, including state and FINRA/SEC examinations.
  • Monitor applicable laws and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering as well as Sanctions
  • Develop and monitor AML and Sanctions compliance risk assessments, metrics, business awareness and education needs.
  • Work with other business constituencies to address Compliance issues.The Minimum Qualifications
    • Operational or risk related work experience, ideally within the insurance or broader financial services industry, or a similar level of legal, compliance or risk experience with the passion, interest, and necessary skills to grow in this field.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office SuiteThe Ideal QualificationsWe are seeking candidates who have operations, compliance, legal or risk experience, or who have the passion, interest, and necessary skills to grow in this field, including:
      • Experience in a regulatory compliance, legal, risk, or related function, ideally at an Insurance Company or Broker Dealer
      • Knowledge or experience with state, FINRA and other regulatory bodies regulations relating to Anti- Money Laundering and/or Sanctions
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to generate precise and thorough documentation. This is a critical competency due to investigations and reports prepared by team may be subject to careful review by regulatory authorities.
      • Ability to maintain accuracy when under tight time constraints and be able to maintain a detail-orientated approach.
      • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to effectively identify, communicate and address the full range of potential compliance exposures.
      • Willingness to learn and adapt to change driven by regulatory, industry, and business developments.
      • Exhibits highest ethical standards & strong work ethic
