As the Domestic Violence Advocate , you will play a pivotal role in
individuals' lives, making a significant impact through:
Responsible for calls received during office hours and walk-in
clients. Complete an intake form with each client that includes an
assessment of needed supports and services, available resources,
and a service plan for implementation. Provide referrals and
linkages to other community agencies as appropriate. Provide
advocacy for victims applying for other services to live violence
and abuse free. Accompany clients to court, to the police station,
to DSS and to doctors as deemed necessary. Assist with finding safe
housing for clients, and supportive counseling. Assist clients with
understanding their rights and with completing any associated
paperwork. Maintain accurate and complete case notes. Domestic
Violence Advocate Minimum Salary: $ 20.00 Domestic Violence
Advocate Maximum Salary: $ 25.00 Domestic Violence Advocate
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00-4:00 (35 hours per week)
Qualifications: VALID NYS Driver's License High School Diploma or
GED required Associate's Degree preferred 1 year working with a
